Community Day is an opportunity to get together with your neighbors, enjoy some good food and entertainment, plus participate in many great activities. The Borough Council, Volunteer Fire Department, and Ladies' Firemen's Auxiliary have teamed up to create this day of fun.
Come out and celebrate the Centivintennial (120th anniversary) of the founding of the Borough of Patterson Heights in 1899. In addition to the events listed below, the firemen will be cooking, and the Ladies' Auxiliary will have their always-delicious baked goods. There will be popcorn, cotton candy, fire trucks, and more surprises.
The afternoon will begin at 2 pm with a program of remembrance of our former firefighters, and recognition of the men and women who currently serve and protect us. Also, the kids (of all ages) will be able to explore fire trucks, go through the Fire Safety Trailer, practice their firefighting with a fire hose, and meet Patty, the Arson Dog.
After the ceremonies, the firefighters will be preparing hot dogs, hamburgers, and pulled pork sandwiches for sale. They will also have pop and water.
Chuck will be playing the tunes between 4 and 8 pm. I hear he even plays requests!
Put your face in Jayne's hands between 4 and 6, and come away with a new look!
Be amazed by Magic Bob's magic show from 5:30 to 6:30. Do you think he can make certain people disappear?
Don't miss out on the best ice cream in the Valley! Of course, it's Bruster's! Arriving at 5:30.
Magic Bob is back, this time doing some amazing things with balloons from 6:30 until 8 pm.
Small Foot comes to Patterson Heights at dusk, and you certainly can't watch a movie without popcorn! Be sure to share with your little brother and sister.
